This is me. Irate.

Remember that thing where despite the fact that I am incredibly Jewish, I am participating in an astonishing number of Christian charities this year?

Yes, well. Tonight was the one where I stood in the cold and rang a bell. My partner, who was supposed to switch off with me every fifteen minutes so I didn't freeze, never showed. My relief team, which was supposed to show up after two hours and take over, never showed. The person organizing this event was not returning calls, so I couldn't inform anybody of this fact. And to top it all off, I didn't even get a bell because store employees had been complaining that the ringing gave them headaches. So I ended up standing outside, in the cold, while my fingers froze, for three hours.

I am going to take this out of at least two people's hides.

And, the worst thing? I usually have fun with charities. Habitat for Humanity house builds? No problem. Food bank sorting? Enjoyable hours of gossip punctuated by moments of utter disgustingness. The thing on Sunday, when we will paint young childs with war paint? That I like.

Freezing my ass off because no one was answering calls? Not fun.

Then I came home and played video games until I felt better.

Bell ringers never get any appreciation. It sucks.

However, you definitely get kudos in my book for doing it, even if that's not much.

And you know what? I bet this group wonders why they have such a hard time getting volunteers next year. Idiots.

*who has had to organize events before with volunteers and knows better than to make life hard for them*
