Okay, no, not really. See, the guy's wife had some heart problem and went off to the hospital and the guy had to go off too. Because it was fairly serious, apparently.

So no car crash today.

To make up for it, the dudes gave us a different tour and I learned the interesting and pretty useless fact that as a group, people tend to jerk until they're accelerating at .2 gravities, about 2 m/s, and then remain there until they reach the desired speed. (Jerk here means the rate of change in acceleration.) Which is odd, because most American cars have way more ability to accelerate. We just don't use it. What that says to my mind is: why design cars that can accelerate faster (minus sports cars)? But people in America really like horsepower, for no good reason.

And then I came home.

Zzzz.

It's because most Americans like pissing other drivers off either by revving their dinky sport cars to a roar in head-to-head traffic or by zooming into a pinhole opening between cars in the next lane and slamming on the brakes to "avoid" an accident. Or they like sneering at people in tiny, busted tin cans from their giant overpowered thrones. [/disgruntled driver in noon rushhour]
