I Want Sushi
Oct. 10th, 2007 06:01 pmThings you can do in 30 minutes: build a tricycle, and decorate it with orange spray-paint and sparklies.
Things you can't do in 30 minutes: cut the trike in half, weld four feet of extra angle iron in, paint the welded-on-metal with flames, and race it.
Unfortunately, no one had informed most of the guys on Greek Team Orange of these facts, which is the reason that Hutch cut the pimp'd trike in half an attempted to weld four feet of angle iron in the middle. It fell apart four feet into the race.
For reference, it is Greek Week, and this is why we are doing things like Saran-Wrapping people to other people.
There's an issue with the WiFi network. It is apparently a new problem, so they'll be able to watch it corrupt their network bit by bit. Not making me happy, because I'm tethered to the wall.
I met my chem lab professor today. He's not the same person as my Chem prof. She was going to teach the class, but she is preggers, and many of the things we will be working with are both dangerous and carcinogenic. So she bowed out. We spent the day making sure our lab stations contain the correct materials. I have two distillation sets.
There's a project wherein I am supposed to take a commercial drug, and starting with a 6-C structure or less (benzene rings, probably) show how it is made, step-by-step. I'm thinking Nexium, due to the fact that MW's cousin manages North America. She probably knows this shit. Whether she's allowed to tell me . . . if not, may I ask for suggestions? Asprin not allowed (too easy), it has to be legal but may also be prescription. Aside from that, go wild.
I also hit my first snag in the realm of Phys-II, because for some reason d is either twice or half as big as it should be, no matter what I do. Not that I care much. I'm so far ahead of the rest of my class on this one that I no longer care.
Sorority meeting, ugh.
