The Epic Drive, Part 2
Feb. 5th, 2011 08:41 pmSo then MW and I drove to Saint Louis. It was a land of snow and ice. And driving, as the miles spooled out behind us. We had a couple of very nice days, clear but cloudy so there was no sun glare.
I forgot to mention that MW's brother, Uncle S, gave me his old GPS unit, since he got a newer one that he likes better. So up until now we'd been driving on the interstate for the better part of three days, but at this point the GPS routed us onto one of the state roads, which is a two-lane road that runs through the middle of nowhere. So we turned off the interstate and moved through the countryside of Oklahoma. It was nice, until a bit after sunset, when we realized that the nearest hotel was a loooooong ways away . . . and I had to go to the bathroom.
After an entirely uncomfortable ninety minutes, we rolled into Perrytown, a tiny place in Texas with a long main street, and an inn. This is where I will leave, for the moment.
Caturday. I did nothing. Huzzah!
