So, this weekend, as I do most weekends, I went home. This time, for the first time, I am doing this without a car. This requires an ability to navigate the Public Transportation [DUN DUN DUNNNNN!]

Actually, the outbound trip went pretty well. The train line, called the Pacific Surfliner, runs parallel to the 101, and also to the course until about Ventura. So that was a pleasant ride.

Today was the return trip, and it was a Great Big FAIL. For starts, this train shows up twenty minutes late; then when I get on, it stalls maybe fifty meters out of the station. So they return to station, and eventually the engineer gets on the PA to announce that the engine if fine but the cooling system is very, very dead, and we will have to take the next train.

Thing is? I chose my train based on which one gets me back in time to use Public Transportation Buses to get back to campus. The next train arrives minutes after the last bus leaves the local train stop, so that is a fail. Panda suggested that I take a cab, which is hat I eventually did. I was surprised that it cost only six dollars, but with four of us (all random strangers going to roughly the same place) I suppose the trip needn't be taxing on our wallets.

So here I am, back safe and sound in my apartment. Unfortunately, my bread turned green over the weekend, so I need some new bread. But I needed a shopping anyway, since I have no fruit, no hard cheese, and I'm almost out of food-in-a-can.

And that was my Adventure. As they go, it was less disabling and more irritating, but there you are.

More cone snail venom tomorrow :D

"...food-in-a-can." *cackle*

I'm going to agree that you lucked out on the cab. Sorry about the return trip, but I'm looking forward to Cone Snail Venom 050.

Public Transportation confuses me and I'm glad I haven't had to use it on my own yet. Everyone else seems to have memorized the routes. I'd probably wind up on the other side of the city, ha ha.

So, to me, this tale does indeed count as an Adventure!

They have a website, which is nice. Even nicer is the fact that Google can read the website and tell you which buses you must take to get to your location. Actual thinking? What is this 'thinking' of which you speak? XP
