It wasn't part of the Workweek From Hell. I got to sleep in and relax in a nice, hot, long bath in my parent's jacuzzi tub.

And now, you get more Heres Tanarill and Dan Adventures. These two just have this dynamic, and I can't stop writing them. There are more in the works.

This happens after Heres Tanarill tries summoning Eska the first time. She is, as I believe I have mentioned before, more or less emotionally dependent on the sword, and tried to summon her a lot. Eska doesn't show up most of the time. She doesn't show up the first time because, quote, "I'm not going to sit there watching you be bitchy at a timekeeper. I do enough of that at home." She really does; her timekeeper Does Not Like the way she keeps stepping out of time to help Heres Tanarill. But it makes Heres Tanarill depressed.

Heres Tanarill did not like confections.

When she had been young, Heres Tanarill had liked purandi, the sticky-sweet confection that she had never encountered outside of her home worldset. That had been before the day that her uncle had given her as much purandi as she could eat. House Tanarill felt it better to teach children through experience that their elders gave them instructions for a reason, and a stomachache lasting a few hours was far better than the burn, a month in healing, that Heres Tanarill had earned for not learning the lesson the first time.

House Tanarill also didn’t believe much in second chances, even for children, so lessons were harsh the first time and quite painful the second.

Which had nothing to do with purandi, or sweetmeats. She looked at the small, foil covered ball Dan offered and said, “What?”

“Chocolate,” said Dan simply, “the reason I didn’t raze the rainforests with the rest of the world. Try it.”

Heres Tanarill reached out and dubiously took it. She’d heard of chocolate, even passed through a few worlds with it, but it was never a goal in and of itself and trying it always kept getting pushed back until she moved on, without ever having tried it.

It melted on her tongue, and she closed her eyes to appreciate it. The demon in her heart was quiet for once, but the angel in her mind was reciting health statistics at her; as usual, she was ignoring it.

For chocolate, she’d make an exception. Heres Tanarill liked chocolate.

Chocolate is what gets me through the day at work. That and the internet.

Anyway. Question: How would Dan react to someone he likes but is currently pissed at being all emo at him? I know how he reacts to Heres Tanarill explaining why she's Walking, but getting them to that point . . .

hmmm. Well since this is Heres Tanarill.

Insult/Poke her so she gets mad at him and thus is anger and thus no longer emo.
