So today has been a kind of lazy day. We had leftovers for lunch, and then I bopped around online for a while, and then I took a nap. And a shower. And I'm back now, but still nothing on.

Oh, and we're watching Journey to the Center of the Earth.

I need to write something. There's a plot gently bubbling away in the back of my head, but in the meantime, I'm putting prompts on open status until such time as I decide to close them. One per person per post, please, but otherwise have at ye.

I've never watched Journey to the Center of the Earth. I did watch a special on investigating Bigfoot on the History Channel, though.

As a prompt, Druidic Ra's. :D

He spent a lot of time shapeshifted at first. It was not a question of preferring the animals forms, although he did. It was just much easier to hear nature over the jangling discord that was his own magic is he wasn't in his own-more or less-body.

He had asked his patron about it. Once. It wasn't that she hadn't explained, because unless it was dangerous to him she always did, it was that the explanation had involved her building a body from the bones out while he watched. It boiled down to the fact that he had made his animal bodies, while he'd stolen the one he used.

"Yes, but-can I make a new one? Like you just did?"

"You have a good enough grasp of anatomy, but not of biochemistry. Certainly not of the soul. I'll teach you when you're ready to learn."

People didn't really pay much attention to a small white cat, especially in large cities. He hadn't really found it difficult, figuring out how to hunt; he'd always been a predator, and now it was merely a bit more literal.

It still takes a while. Nature isn't nearly as vengeful as he was, and every time he feels like killing someone he's reminded that only sentient life kills for any reason but to eat. Or, put more bluntly, nature cares about as much as the average person as a mountain cares about a single snowflake; even so, if there is too great a weight, there will be an avalanche.

He put a lot of time and energy into ignoring that truth. But the natural disasters of his own world were increasing in both frequency and magnitude. A self-regulating system needs no guardian.

He doesn't want to go back yet, to face the consequences of being so wrong for so long. He knows that, eventually, he will have to. Not that he'd have to make any kind of payment, because anyone who might need one is long dead and any to whom he might want to give wouldn't accept it, but. There's still a price, and he's going to have to pay it eventually.

Just not yet.

I viewed Ra's as learning druidism (or most of it) from the WoW-verse people, as they would know more about it than Tressla, right? Andwell, he'd have animal forms closer to the druids of Warcraft because of that. XD;

But I can see Ra's hanging out in his animal forms more often in the beginning for the same reasons, just popping back into his human (originally I typed 'caster') form at times when something needed his personal attention, like the League of Shadows and Talia or Damien.

It's shiny, though! More than my image of him in a stag form harassing cities by increasing the growth rate of plants, and leaving plant-filled hoofprints in the asphalt.

:o I thought there was a kitty form? No? Ohwell, just squint a little.

And he's supposed to be in Azeroth here, 'cause he's still recovering and he likes the place, Legion and all.

Nono, there is! It's just that the kitty form of druids is this big, battle-ready sabretooth panther/lion. Ra's could prolly mess with the size, though.

Ohhh, it sounded like he went back to Earth, what with knowing about the natural disasters there. And I figured being there would increase his reluctance to come out of beast forms.
