MW and Panda were, though. It went like this:
Roooooooome. They visited the Pantheon, that one famous fountain, the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican, the Coliseum, etc.
Big Boat!
Santorini. They went up to see the white-painted towns at the top. All of Santorini is basically the remains of a volcano, which blew up some 3600 years ago. The volcano itself has since built a small island inside the caldera, which forms a natural harbor. They took many pictures of the houses, which perch atop the cliffs.
Istanbul (not Constantinople). They went to the Blue Mosque, and the Hagia Sophia, and took a cruise on the Bosporus. They went to the bazaar, and saw how silk is made from silkworm cocoons, and how Turkish rugs are made out of the silk. They even had a Turkish bath.
Athens. The acropolis, where the Parthenon iiiiiis. Apparently it was quite windy. And there are no straight lines.
More Rome, this time with a day-trip to Pompeii. Apparently, it was a 60-acre city, of which only 20 acres have been excavated. They saw a gladiator training gym, and the houses, and the streets with their tall stones at crosswalks so that people didn't have to walk in the open-sewer streets. And a whorehouse. I'm not sure why. And the plaster casts made of the people-shaped holes found during excavation . . .
It is good for MW and Panda to get Vacations Without Kids every so often, like once every 25 years XD But I am still +10000 jealous.
