tanarill: (Bastet)
Welcome to tan is Jewish, Part . . . hey, Rags, I forget. What part are we on now?

Anyway, it's the time of year when we suffer through a holiday made of matzah and other food. It's also, if you are an ancient Israeli farmer, time for the Spring harvest. This will hopefully occupy you for the next seven weeks, after which you will celebrate in the way that Jews celebrate everything: massive quantities of food. For a change, it will be dairy. Which is to say, cheesecake* holiday.

Obviously, this is something to look forward to. We counted the first day of the Omer last night at the end of the seder, so today I start with number two.

Today is the second day of the Omer.

[sitting, vibrating gently, and waiting for delicious cheesecake (not a lie)]

*Actually, cheesecake is not a cake at all. It is a baked custard pie, making it one of the most advanced forms of pie known to man.
