What I've been doing is copying only the essential bits of text from my old notebooks into a new, bigger notebook, trash the pages that have useless stuff, and save the usable (usable meaning both clear of text and not having absorbed strange humidity odors) pages (I'll carefully take them out and combine them into a new notebook. :D).

Pros: -You can customize the dimensions of your new version of your notes so you can easily store them in whatever container/space you have available.

-The amount of pages the notes took is reduced.

Con: -Takes a lot of time.

But, um, yes, I know what you mean about retaining super old stuff in case it might come in handy, especially school stuff.
