Plant Protrusions

(Please forgive the image quality, these were taken after dark and I haven't worked out how to make pictures in the dark good.)
We have these big plants all over campus. They put out these big, flowering . . . things. They grow so big that they flop over under their own weight. They bloom sequentially, from top to bottom, so the top is all spent while the bottom is flowering.
In this one, you can see the falling-over-ness and the spent-tip-ness.
