It rained! In California!

Actually, it's mostly kind of half-assed about it, like the weather here isn't sure what rain is. But then once it got going there was the pitter-patter of rain on the roof. As a result, I slept through most of the day.

I should really put of some of this stuff, or talk about epic drive, but really I just wanted to squee about the rain. So I did, and now I go away again.

I like rain too, the sound makes me sleep better and then the air the next day feels all fresh and good.

Fun Sad Fact: My Mom and my Aunt tell me that when they were teenagers, it used to rain in this city (Guadalajara) very frequently. After having the city expand like woah and cutting down many, many trees, now it doesn't rain often.

Interestingly, this is how rainforests generate their rain, too. The plants suck nutrients up by evaporating water out through holes in the leaves, which creates enough of a vacuum to pull up more nutrient-laden water. The air is of course super-humid, and once the hottest part of the day is over, there is actually more water in the air than the air can hold, so it rains.

So yet another reason that suburbs with trees and green space > concrete urban centers.
